The Green Bay Packers receiver won the ABC dance show Tuesday after wowing audiences and judges with his kickin' country-themed freestyle routine. He and partner Peta Murgatroyd hoisted the glittery prize above their heads after being named the new "Dancing" champs.

Streamers and confetti rained down from the ceiling, filling the ballroom as they celebrated. Driver's wife and children joined him on the dance floor.

With just one point separating the three finalists, it was up to the viewers to pick the winner.

He and his fellow finalists, Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins and Cuban actor William Levy, each earned perfect scores for their last performances Tuesday. Jenkins came into the final contest with a perfect 60 points; Driver and Levy each had 59.

Judges' scores combined with viewer votes determined the result.

Contestants eliminated throughout the show's 10-week season reunited for the two-hour finale. Martina Navratilova, Gavin DeGraw, Jack Wagner, Jaleel White, Sherri Shepherd, Melissa Gilbert, Roshon Fegan, Maria Menounos and Gladys Knight all donned costumes Tuesday for one last dance.

Knight did double performance duty, also singing "The Way We Were." Kelly Clarkson also performed on the show.

The next round of "Dancing With the Stars" will feature contestants from past seasons.

PIL filed against Sachin Tendulkar

A public interest litigation has been filed against cricketer Sachin Tendulkar contesting that his nomination to the Rajya Sabha is unconstitutional.

The plea questioned the validity of Sachin's nomination on the ground that he failed to meet the conditions laid down in the Constitution required for a person to be nominated as an MP.

However, the Delhi High Court has refused to restrain cricketer Sachin Tendulkar from taking oath as Rajya Sabha member.

On Tuesday, a Supreme Court bench too had refused to entertain a petition challenging cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's nomination to the Rajya Sabha.

The SC bench felt that a remedy could lie in the high court and allowed the petitioner to withdraw the case and approach the Delhi High Court.

However, the Delhi High Court has sought the central government's response on the PIL against Sachin.

Singh praised the school children who took part in a friendly cricket match.
He stressed on the need to have more campaigns, and added that everyone must assume responsibility to save tigers and the jungles.
"It is our responsibility, being part of society, to understand what wildlife is all about and what sort of things need to be done. I really take this initiative and I want to take this forward with support from you," Singh said.
The 'Turbanator' also praised Karnataka forest officials for protecting tigers despite being shot and injured twice by poachers in the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve.
Poaching and the loss of habitat has resulted in the decline in the number of tigers in the country.
According to Wildlife Protection Society of India statistics, 84 tigers died in 2009-10.
The 2008 census recorded 1411 tigers, wildlife experts warned that tigers could become extinct in 20 years.
Conservationists say that despite a ban on the use of tiger body parts in medicines and the trading in skin and bones in China, everything from fur, whiskers, eyeballs and bones are in great demand.
